Is a hot dog a sandwich, or should it have its own category?

I know others would argue that instead of saying "sand wich" they would say "hot dog." I think a hot dog is a sandwich because it's in between a slices of bread which I think it qualify as a sandwich.

Hot dogs fit nicely as a sub-category or variation of sandwiches. It just happens to be more rectangular than square, and the bun isn’t usually cut all the way through.

A hot dog is a hot dog. Sandwiches do not conjoined bread pieces.

It should defo have its own category. Should be like hotdog long bun. Everything in that type of bread should be called long buns!! Haha.

I think thats a crime. Hot dogs clearly deserve their own category, just look at all the varieties they come in! Sandwiches are..different, salad-ey and so.
